The Okapi lives in the Congo Rainforest in Central Africa.
It can live up to 15 to 20 years in captivity. The Okapi is the only living relative of the giraffe. Like a giraffe, an Okapi has very large, upright ears, which catch even slight sounds. Also, the Okapi stands 1.5m and (4 ft 11 in) tall at the shoulder. Another fact is that the Okapi has a body length of 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in). Okapis have a coat that is a chocolate reddish brown with horizontal white stripes on their legs.
Since the Okapi is endangered by being hunted, the Okapi will be able to camouflage through the canopy layer and from predators and hunters. Also, the Okapi will have to change their thick coat into a thin coat for climate change and for when global warming comes later in the year.
