In the present, the three-toed sloth has three curved claws on its front and hind feet to help it hang on trees. It lives in the inland tropical rainforest, where there are plenty of trees. They are normally brown with some green algae growing on them to camouflage with the trees. The future environment will be a marsh due to climate change. The sloth will form spikes to warn predators to stay away. Since the sloth is originally an herbivore the sloth will have to adapt to a carnivore and develop sharp teeth to eat meat. The sloth will have to develop longer leg and foot bones to go faster to escape from predators. Lastly, the sloth will have to grow more green algae on it to camouflage with the grass because there aren't many trees in the marsh. This will protect them from predators.
