A sloth's current habitat is the beautiful green rainforests of Central and South America. Ways they survive in the rainforest include sharp claws so they can climb trees and camouflage so they can hide from predators. 1,000 years from now the sloth's habitat will be a wetland with no trees for sloths to hang from so they will walk. Adaptations in the future may include webbed feet to help them swim in water, because the wetland is a wet place. Another one includes an extra eyelid that will act like goggles to protect their eyes when swimming in water, and the sloth's fur will become a darker shade of brown to blend into the muddy ground of the wetland habitat so they can survive with dangerous predators around. Without these adaptations the sloth would not be able to survive but with them yes!
