Spider Monkeys are small Monkeys found in tropical rainforests. They live on tree tops and canopies. They are found in Central to South America stretching from Mexico to Bolivia. Spider monkeys have small bodies, short faces, long arms, legs, tails, and claws. One of spider monkeys' biggest threats in their environment is deforestation. Deforestation could affect Spider monkeys in various ways such as finding food, a place to live, and escaping from predators. If deforestation continues spider monkeys could adapt in numerous different ways. They might adapt to the shortage of trees by having larger claws to dig into the ground for cover. Another adaptation is to have larger noses to smell bugs easier since their main diet wouldn’t be accessible. Spider monkeys may develop smaller and stronger arms, legs, and tails so it would be easier to escape predators as well as lifting logs and rocks searching for food.
