Jaguars are one of the third largest cats in South America, they live in tropical lowlands and are great swimmers. They adapt by using their muscular limbs and large paws to climb trees, pad along the forest floor, and even swim in rivers and streams. But, because of deforestation and agriculture, There are around 173,000 jaguars left in the world today. Due to deforestation, it's getting harder for jaguars to mate and hunt. To adapt to these new changes in the environment jaguars would have to find new mating tactics to reproduce. They will slowly have to shift from climbing trees to swimming. They would also most likely adapt to hunting less times a day which can cause overpopulation of different animals in the forests.
