Sloth Evolution

Present Day: The three-toed sloth thrives in tropical rainforests, where it moves slowly through tree canopies, feeding on leaves. Its fur hosts green algae, providing camouflage from predators like harpy eagles. Future Prediction: Thousands of years from now, rising sea levels have transformed its rainforest home into a marshland. The sloth has evolved longer, webbed claws to swim between submerged trees and traverse muddy terrain. Its fur has become less dense, preventing waterlogging, and now features brownish-green tones to blend into the muddy wetlands. With fewer trees, it has adapted to feeding on aquatic vegetation and insects, while retaining its slow movements to conserve energy in this challenging environment.
