The Capybara, or H. Hydrochaeris, is the biggest known rodent on Earth, native to Southern America. They are closely related to guinea pigs, rock cavies, and distantly related to Chinchillas. However, due to the current changes (primarily climate changes) occurring all over the world, Capybaras in their home rainforest are currently facing change. In circa 1,000 years, I believe that the most probable changes to occur to this species would be lesser compared to others, but still significant. Capybaras are well as is, but due global warming, the temperature might become too much for them, as well water becoming scarce. Therefore, the Lanbara (G. Gaiachoerus) would have longer ears, to allow for the release of heat from their bodies, a hump to store more water (similarly to camels), and an addition of sweat gland genes, to be able to cool themselves without water.
