Poison dart frogs are toxic frogs that are native to Central and South America. They live away from permanent bodies of water. This is because they find the water needed for reproduction in the leaves of trees. They sometimes climb trees up to 10 meters. Their bright colors warn predators to stay away from them. Sadly, poison dart frogs do not have a pleasant future ahead of them. Due to the cutting down of trees, also known as deforestation, their habitat will decrease. The trees also give the frogs the protection they need from their natural predator, the fire-bellied snake. This animal may experience some adaptations due to its predicament. I predict that one will be changing colors. This species might change into one color to camouflage better due to the disappearance of trees. Another adaptation might be living closer to water bodies.
