Sloths (Folivora) are native to tropical rainforests of central and south America; they are known for their sluggish movements and living their life on trees, their long arms and shaggy fur help them navigate as they hide in trees and stay almost motionless to conserve energy. Climate change is profoundly affecting this lifestyle which may cause evolutionary changes. Rising sea levels and global temperatures, reduction in available resources, deforestation, and fragmentation are symptoms of climate change. These changes can lead to thinner fat and fur layers due to heat, longer limbs, shorter claws, camouflage, and quickened speed to shift around from fragmented forests, migration to higher levels due to rising sea levels, and last dietary shifts to other things such as diverse fruits and insects from the possible decline of availability from Leafs. These behavioral and physical changes may reshape sloths and give a different picture to our future descendants.
