Ring-tailed lemurs are a species of primates who live only in the Madagascar rainforests. Although they do usually stay on the forest floor, they do have hands and feet that are meant for climbing, and a long tail for balance. Ring-tails have great eyesight and males can release a smelly liquid from glands on their wrists to scare predators and attract mates. Their habitat is affected by the temperature increase of global warming and rainforest trees being cut down. This’ll lead to lemurs starting to develop web-like feet and hands to swim instead of climb. They become more scale-like with a thicker tail to help them move faster in the waters. Their diet will also change to more of a fish-based and sea plant diet instead of bugs and plants because they will spend all their time in the water. This is how ring-tailed lemurs will adapt in the future.
