The caimans are reptiles that live in a tropical rainforest. Their scales can absorb water, they basket in sunlight in lakes when cool, and hide in the shade of trees when hot. Due to climate change, tropical rainforests may stop existing and become a desert in 65 years. Caimans would adapt not be able to adapt to the new environment before extinction. The exposure to heat will make them dehydrated and without any water sources they could die of dehydration. Not only that but it normally takes at least a thousand years for animals to begin adapting to the new environment. They only have 65 years to make a once in a lifetime change for survival. If they end up surviving, they might gain the ability to burrow themselves underground. This is to avoid the dependance on trees for shade. The name of the future animal is caimanian.
