The snakes can be found in the Amazon Basin Rainforest. If the climate continues to change at its current pace, the emerald tree boa will be living in a dryland biome. The boa will have to adapt to survive in this environment. Some adaptations include living on the ground instead of in trees. So they will have to get rid of their prehensile tail and burrow underground; they will also have to adapt to the environment by changing their colors and becoming more brown and tan colors for camouflage. They will also have to change their diet to rodents that live on the ground. They usually eat birds, lizards, and frogs; but will have to change to mice, rats, and squirrels.
