The flying lizard has an 8-inch long, flattened body with mottled brown, blue, and yellow pigment. They have wing-like flaps on their forearms and a neck flap called a dewlap. These creatures adapted to gliding to avoid predators. They live in the Philippine Islands and Borneo rain forest. As the climate changes over the next 1000 years, the rain forest will become a marsh swamp biome. To live in this landscape, this lizard must adapt by getting gills so they can go under the water, have an egg shell that is impervious to saltwater, a strong tail to be able to move through the water, webbed feet, and begin to live mostly in the water. They can use their wings and dewlap to hold air bubbles which will be released when they dart through the water and will confuse their predators. This will help them survive in the changed world.
