The bush dog lives in neotropical areas or areas with multiple river ecosystems. They usually make their homes in forests and/or wet savannas. They are always near a source of water and live in dens other animals or themselves have dug or hollow trees. Their features include, short legs which allow them to hunt in narrow spaces, webbed feet to help them swim, sharp teeth to eat efficiently, and reddish brown fur to help them not stand out in the environment. These features help the bush dog survive in its current environment. But in the future, their feet will become unwebbed because they will no longer need to swim because of a lack of water while their claws will become sharper to help them climb and hunt. Their ears will become larger to sense/hear predators easier, and their legs will become longer to help with speed and climbing.
