The Red Eyed Tree Frog is a frog that lives on the canopy layer of the rain forest in Southern Mexico. It is by the tree trunks and underneath tree leaves. The frog can live with high humidity, and it is often near a river or a water source. The Red Eyed Tree Frog is a brownish color and can change to bright green. Their belly is light blue or cream colored, and their legs are also blue with orange feet. This frog can be threatened in many ways. They are very sensitive to pollution and climate change. Like all of the frog species, they are threatened by chytrid fungus. They also need water to survive so their bodies can stay moist. If climate change continues, more plants will die causing the tree frog to change into a darker color to match the plants.
