Emerald Hummingbird

The glittering-throated emerald hummingbird has a mix of green and blue feathers, with white stomach feathers. They have long and skinny beaks which help to reach inside of flowers for their nectar. The glittering throated emerald hummingbirds fly around searching for nectar in a large variety of flowering herbs, bushes, vines, and trees. The glittering throated emerald hummingbird lives in the Amazon Rainforest which contains many different species. It is warm, tropical, gets 59-118 inches of rain annually, and has many different types of flowers. If global temperatures keep rising and deforestation continues, there will be far fewer trees and plants so that it looks similar to the savanna biome. In the future, the glittering throated emerald hummingbird may have to adopt a tan-feathered camouflage. They may also have to develop a different beak to eat things like seeds in case there are not enough flowers in the area.
