Harpy eagles are large gray and white birds with a huge wingspan more than 6 feet long.
They are found in the rainforests of South and Central America. They are an apex
Predator, eating howler monkeys and sloths. They use their very strong talons to
kill prey and they use their sharp beak to rip it apart. Harpy eagles build 4 foot wide nests in
the tallest trees. Harpy eagles are threatened by habitat loss.
In the future, Harpy eagles will have to adapt because of climate change. The birds
a hard time surviving because it might be too wet. For example, they might have to eat fish
which would change the way they hunt. They might need to be more like Ospreys, who dive to
eat fish. As you can see if Harpy eagles want to survive they will need to adapt in a lot of ways.
