Giant Otters live in the Amazon Basin in the rainforest, rivers, and wetlands. Their coats are dark brown and have repellent fur to keep warm and dry. They hunt for fish, prawns, frogs and sometimes snakes. They have vibrissae to detect movements of prey. Their ears and nostrils close up in the water when swimming.
In the future, Global warming would take over and dry out rainforests and turn them into savannas. So, the Giant Otters will have to adapt in their new habitat. Instead of their diet of seafood, they will have to hunt for land animals. Since their flippers won’t help them out, they will turn into feet to walk and run. It will be very hot, so their fur will shed so they can cool down. After a while, their coat will turn a tan color to camouflage. The Giant Otters will adapt to their new environment.
