The Gold Lion Tamarin Monkey lives in the Amazon rainforest, spending time swinging through branches, eating fruit, insects, and invertebrates. Gold lions have long limbs to swing and grab. Their main traits are their very sharp claws to impale their prey and the common monkey attribute of opposable thumbs.
Unfortunately, data shows in 1,000 years sea level will rise 1,800 feet, so much of the Amazon rainforest will be underwater and they’ll have to adapt to survive. Now called Blue Winged Monkey, they’ll grow patagia and be able to glide to find birds or spot fish. To catch fish they’ll need webbed toes and fingers since swimming will be essential and to eat the fish they’ll need sharp teeth. The Gold Lion Tamarin Monkey will adapt and survive climate change.
