Jaguars often live in tropical lowlands, preferably close to water such as rivers and inland wetlands. Jaguars currently inhabit dense tropical rainforests and wetlands across Central and South America, primarily relying on areas with abundant water sources like rivers and swamps due to their strong swimming abilities. However, with predicted climate change, their habitat is likely to shrink and shift, potentially forcing adaptations like altered prey selection, increased movement patterns, and even potential shifts in their physical characteristics to better suit a changing environment. This adaptation is projected to happen when an abundance of ice from Greenland and Antarctica melts into the ocean, therefore greatly raising the sea level.
