I chose the jaguar, a powerful predator living in the tropical rainforest. Today, jaguars have thick fur with rosette spots to help them blend into the dense forest. They are strong swimmers and hunt animals like deer and capybaras. In the future, if rainforests turn into savannas due to rising temperatures, jaguars might develop lighter fur to reflect heat and longer legs to run faster in open spaces. They may also need to hunt different animals like antelope and burrow for shade. If their habitat becomes wetlands, jaguars might evolve webbed feet to swim better and a sleeker body to move through water easily.
