In thousands of years the water will rise and cover the land at the bottom of North America where it reaches South America. So the spider monkey will have to adapt to the new ecosystem because it is used to swinging on trees and not used to swimming. The spider monkeys may swim through the ocean or die out in that area. The spider monkeys eat fruits, leaves, flowers, nuts, seeds, insects, and eggs. They will have to adapt to eat small fish, shrimp, crabs, mollusks like clams and snails, seahorses, juvenile fish, grass shrimp, and sometimes even smaller sea urchins. The adapted spider monkey has to learn to swim, so they need longer and stronger legs and arms to swim. They need webbed hands and feet, and stomachs similar to cows to regurgitate their food and then swallow it again for a second digestion, that is a swimming monkey.
