The Poison-Spiked Shield Frog is an adaptation of the Golden Poison Dart Frog. Because of climate change, the rainforest loses its moisture, turning it into a savanna. The Golden Tree Frog experiences many mutations to turn into this frog. The Golden Tree Frog gains a grey color from a mutation in its DNA. It also gets a mutation that gives it greenish-brownish spots to help it camouflage better. It gets a 3rd mutation to get spikes on its body. Finally, it gets a final mutation to get claws. These mutations are adaptive traits for this frog. These claws and spikes are both poison-tipped, so it has great defenses. It uses its claws to attack and feed on its prey. It keeps the traits of , like not webbed feet and poison that paralyzes you. It is 7cm tall, 4.8cm wide, and has a life span of 12 years.
