The current poison dart frog lives in rainforests. One adaptation is their great eyesight. This is really important because they prey on small insects and spiders. They have a very sticky tounge. This makes it easier for them to catch their prey and pull it into their mouth. The reason their skin is poisonous is because they eat a type of poisonous ant and when they swallow it, the poison flows through their skin. The rainforest has turned into a savanna. One of its new adaptations is hard bumps on its skin. These help protect against predators and some of them can be sharp. Most of the water has dried up, the frog’s tounge has lost its stickiness. The frogs tongue becomes rough like sandpaper. The frog also changes its diet because most of the ants it eats are extinct. The frog eats dung beetles.
