My animal, the Salis Paludis Walker, or Salt March Walker, evolved from the Scarlet Ibis, I believe in 1000 years, the rising Atlantic will flood the Amazon forest from the Northeast. The salt water will kill most of the trees and grass, turning the area slowly into a salt marsh. I believe the first adaptation will be that the Scarlet Ibis’s liver will gain the ability to filter out salt, similar to cats. Its neck will extend and it will get some tissue under its beak to store more fish as they populate the area. It will develop longer legs to wade in water. Later, it will develop larger wings for sustained flight and a broader beak to store more fish.
