The Hoatzin has now undergone evolution and has made adaptations to thrive in the arid conditions of the Sahara desert, developing spurs on its feet to help climb rocky ledges. Due to the hot climate, the Hoatzin has shed feathers to make a thinner layer and also changes colors to help hide from predators. The tough food has made the Hoatzin's beak more curved and thick to easily break down food.
