The Blue Poison Dart Frog (Dendrobates tinctorius 'azureus') lives in the Amazon rainforest, which is undergoing a catastrophic drought due to climate change. To survive this dire change, the "Dart" Frog will experience substantial adaptations, including a darker skin variation, loss of suction pad on toes, mutation affecting the poison secretion system (black spots), larger digestive system, and change of location for laying eggs (from base of plant to puddle). As a result of these adaptations, the Blue Poison Dart Frog is no longer a poison dart frog, it has become more like a Desert spadefoot toad than its original identity.
