The golden Tegu lives in the tropical rainforest in central South America. They live in the country of Panama. Due to climate change the rainforest is going to experience more forest fires. It’ll get hotter and they will need to adapt to its environment to help it survive. Its saliva glands will get stronger. They will develop smaller claws and a more snake-like body. Because of forest fires food will become scarce. They will get venom glands and they will have to develop a new diet due to climate change. Now they eat bugs, fish, birds, snakes, etc. They will also have to develop a stronger jaw to eat bigger animals. Their new diet is spiders, bigger fish, squirrels, and more.
