The African forest elephant lives in West and Central Africa rainforests. The animal survives today by having a long trunk for reaching water, round ears for easier maneuver, wrinkly skin to stay cool, and tusks made of ivory so they can eat and protect themselves. These all impact the animal because of the environment it lives in.
In years to come the African forest elephant will be forced to adapt over time due to a change in the environment. The rainforest will experience a drought. The trees will die and there will be no water. The elephant will then have a shorter trunk since they will no longer need a long one for reaching nutrients, triangular ears to conserve more room, dry skin due to high temperatures, and no tusks because they will not be able to eat and won't need to protect themselves since things are dying off.
