The Lemur is the most endangered mammal in the world today. They have had to adapt certain features to better suit their surroundings. These features that we can see today include: bright big eyes to navigate during the night, opposable thumbs and sharp claws for climbing trees, and powerful hind legs to jump from tree to tree. While these features are very beneficial for lemurs life today, the rain forest of Madagascar lowlands are becoming a victim of deforestation. In the future these animals will have to further adapt to their new surrounding to survive. These features that they would inhabit would include: sharp teeth to change to a more carnivorous diet due to lack of vegetation, Dule clawed paws because there will be limited trees, and thicker and lighter coats of fur to protect them from the sun.
