The present day Okapi has many adaptations from its current environment of the congo rainforest. The Okapi has longer ears to hear its predators, darker fur to camouflage in the dark setting of the rainforest, oily skin/fur to protect it from the weather and stripped legs to help further fit in with the rainforest. Due to the rapid deforestation of the congo rainforest the Okapi will have to adapt to its new environment. The Okapi will have a longer neck to reach the tops of trees due to there not being much grass on the ground, lighter fur to be able to blend in the new environment, their skin is no longer oily due to the lack of rain, thicker legs to be able to run faster or kick predators, and have little to no stripes to help further blend in.
