Future Creatures Project

The picture shows chimpanzees before and after in a hypothetical future, based on current natural events. The chimpanzees in the future would have slimmer builds to conserve food and water because there would be less available due to deforestation and climate change. Having less hair aligns with current trends in animals that live in the desert, where their skin is thicker to retain more humidity and water. They would adapt by growing less hair due to rising temperatures. These chimpanzees would have longer limbs and fingers to access food in harder-to-reach places. Their diets would shift to omnivorous to adapt to the scarcity of food. The chimpanzees would also learn to build simple structures, such as small huts made of sticks and/or beds made of leaves, due to the loss of land and shelter.
