The okapi has a dark coat to blend in, along with large ears. It has a long neck for eating leaves. It is territorial. It marks its territory. It has four stomachs. It usually has one calf.
In the future, the rainforest may become savannah. In that case, the okapi may need to gather in herds. They may also have lighter coats for camouflage, as well as long necks for reaching trees. They may keep their big ears.
This may be how they will adapt.
