In the present, The Rio Apaporis Caiman lives in the waters of the Amazon and the Apaporis rivers eating reptiles, fish, smaller animals, invertebrates, and mammals. Their main predator/ competitor is the Spectacled Caiman the Rio Apaporis caiman is a subspecies of the spectacled caiman. It’s a tropical environment where they live with a high of 80°- 93°F. The low is to mid - 70°F. I think, the Rio Apaporis caiman will adapt to have a sandy colored pelt and need a lot less water the Rio Apaporis Caiman will burrow in the sand in the day and come out at night to look for food and water. Another way that they will adapt to have stronger and bigger legs. Right now caiman and all other crocodilian species have very poor running speed and very weak legs because their travel is by water.
