Jaguars hunt by using their strong bodys to climb trees to catch types of prey. Their fur camouflage in the rainforest to catch prey.Jaguars are apex predators in the rainforest. Due to climate change If a Jaguar lived in the desert it would be harder to survive in a new habitat. If they lived in the desert, their camouflage would have to get rid of their spots and make their print slightly darker to try to hunt..As a new area to get food most common prey to eat are small reptiles and types of birds .This change would make it very difficult to hunt in the desert meaning Jaguars would not be apex predators. While in the Amazon rainforest it rains a lot so there are ponds and creeks plenty of sources for them to get water, in the dessert this would mean smaller jaguars would survive better.
