Honduran White Bats live in the Lowland Tropical Rainforest of Central America. Honduran White Bats eat figs, particularly one fig called Ficus Colubrinae. To protect them from predators, they hide under leaves that hang downward.
Humans cut down about 3.5 to 7 billion trees from the rainforest each year. That deforestation could drastically destroy Honduran White Bat habitat. This means that the Honduran White Bats will need to travel fast and far from the destruction of their homes. So they will need bigger wings to go from place to place. The Honduran White Bats food could also disappear. In that case they would need to eat something else besides figs, Like bugs, and bigger fruit. To avoid being seen by predators while flying they would need to be a different color, black and light grey. This new bat in the future will be named the Honduran Noche Bat.
