The Toucan. The toucan is a bird that has a short and compact body. They have long curved beaks to reach out for food easily and grab prey. Toucans have short and thick necks. Toucans live in the rainforests and they are mostly found in the high canopies of Central and South America. Toucans live in hollowed out trees. Their sharp claws provide them good grip to stand on trees. Their legs are strong and short. The Large Brown Toucan. The large brown toucan lives in the savanna. They turn a darker color because they would blend in with the savanna. They’re wings get bigger so they can travel longer distances. The toucan gets a bigger beak so it can consume more food. It gets bigger because it is consuming more food due to the beak getting bigger. The tail gets sharper so it can control its flight better.
