The rain forest animal that I have chosen is a capybara. Currently, a capybara lives in a swamp and wetland habitat, but I believe that their habitat will soon become underwater due to climate change. A capybara is a semi-aquatic rodent which means it can live on land and water. A capybara has hard fur and webbed feet. The hair helps it dry and the webbed feet help it swim in the water. A capybara's diet consists of grass and shrubs and is prey to jaguars and caimans. Due to global warming I think a capybara's habitat will submerge underwater. Some adaptations a capybara might have to go through is a pointed nose to glide through the water, a decrease in fur for speed, a decrease in size for hiding, and a change in diet to eat small fish. These adaptations will help a capybara survive in its new environment.
