My animal is the mata mata turtle. Currently, they live in bodies of water in South American rainforests. These turtles are fully carnivorous, and love to hunt and snack on fish and aquatic invertebrates. Like all turtles, these turtles have a protective shell when they sense danger, however, these turtles are side necked turtles, meaning they fold it on the side when they sense danger. Mata mata turtles have bumpy, rough, and spiky skin to stop predators from eating them. In the future, the Mata mata turtle will be called the longnose flipper turtle. These turtles will live in a savanna biome. Just like the mata mata turtles, these reptiles will be fully carnivorous. The Longnose Flipper Turtle nose has an even longer nose (hints the name) to get air more easily. The Longnose Flipper Turtle turtle will have spiky and rough skin to protect itself from hungry predators.
