Tiger Adaptation

Today, Bengal Tigers live in the rainforest near the coast of the Indian Ocean. As the temperatures increase from climate change, the water levels will rise, and the tigers’ hunting land will decrease. If the tiger survives climate change, then it will have to adapt to its new life in the water. As it gets hotter and sea levels rise, the tiger will find new food sources in the water which will be faster than today’s prey. The tiger will have to adapt by changing its coat to shades of gray for camouflage to match its new habitat. To increase hunting speed, its paws will get much larger with enhanced webbing. It will also grow fins on its back and chest, as well as its tail to help turn and move faster in the water. With these adaptations, tigers will easily survive climate change.
