Okapi Now The Okapi is known as the forest giraffe, but it looks more like a cross between a deer and a zebra. It can only be found in the wild. It has thick oily fur that helps it stay dry in the rain. Except for the tips the okapi’s short horns are covered in skin. The Okapi live amongst dense flora in the rainforest. Its plant based diet includes, fruits, bugs, leaves and twigs. It is endangered because of illegal hunting and forest loss, due to hunting. Okapi Then In the future, the Okapi might have longer, sharper horns to defend themselves and sharper teeth to help them bite through harder plants or bugs. They might travel in herds for safety. I think they will become bigger and have strong legs to defend themselves. Their fur might become a bit lighter to help them blend in more.
