Red Pandas live in the Himalayas in South Asia. Their diet is bamboo, acorns, and insects. Due to climate change, red pandas will move up higher in trees and bamboo will go away. Their worst threat is loss of habitat. Red pandas move around at dawn and dusk to avoid their predators. Their predators are snow leopards and yellow-throated martens. They defend themselves with their sharp claws, standing on their hind legs, and releasing a foul smell from their scent glands. In the future, they will need to eat more grasses, acorns, berries, grubs, lizards, mice, chicks and bird eggs to replace the large amounts of bamboo they eat today. I think red pandas will have new adaptations because of all the acorns they eat, the red panda’s teeth will get sharper. Their fur would also become dark maroon to hide deep in the trees from their predators.
