Scolopendra Viridicornis is a type of centipede located in the Amazon Rainforest. They grow to a foot long and live for 10 years. This centipede hunts small vertebrates . They use modified legs located on the front to inject poison and are used in certain medicines. It also can swim and needs water to survive.
Possible effects of global warming are droughts. This will greatly affect scolopendra since they need water and a damp and dark environment to live. They will adapt and get a new feature allowing it to detect water in order to survive. They will also adapt in appearance and will get an eye pattern on its back to keep predators away. It will also adapt to have the same diet as poison dart frogs to deter predators.
