Trachycephalus resinifictrix, also known as the Amazon Milk Frog, is a species native to the Amazon rainforest. They are larger frogs and have pale blue skin with distinctive black or brown banding. These frogs live in the canopies of the rainforest and require a moist environment to survive. While the Amazon Milk Frog is not currently endangered, climate change poses a threat to their habitat. In the future, these frogs may adapt to have thicker skin and produce more mucus. These adaptations would help them retain water in a warmer and drier environment. Additionally, they would evolve to become smaller to regulate their body temperature faster. Scarcity of trees is another consequence of climate change due to more forest fires. This could force Milk Frogs to spend more time on the ground, creating the need to camouflage from predators. The frogs could become brown to blend in with their surroundings.
