The Future of the Toco Toucan

In the future, the Toco Toucan would need to evolve in order to survive during a change in climate. Its current rainforest home might become a dry savanna or woodland forest receiving less rain and having fewer trees, due to climate change. Because of this, the toucan's bright colors would dull to duller colors like brown and green to blend in with the drier environment. Its large beak would also reduce in size and weight, enabling flight of the toucan long distances in search of food and water. With decreasing availability of fruit, the toucan will start eating more insects and smaller animals. All of this would enable the Toco Toucan living in a warmer, drier world and living in a different world.
