The ring-tailed lemur, native to Madagascar, faces threats from deforestation and climate change. As its habitat gets drier and more fragmented it may need to adapt. A larger nose and ears could help detect food and predators, while wider eyes may improve vision. With fewer trees lemurs might rely more on climbing rocky terrain and catching small prey, leading to sharper nails. Their diet could shift toward grasses, making their nails even sharper. A thinner body and shorter tail may improve agility and speed, helping them escape predators. Rising temperatures could also lead to shorter lighter fur to stay cool. But evolution takes time, and the fast-changing climate may make it hard for lemurs to keep up, putting their survival at risk.
