Brown-throated sloths currently live in the tropical rainforest, which will eventually become a savanna. Caused by climate change, sloths will have to adjust to a grassland interspersed with trees than a hot, moist biome where it rains all year long. The landscape will become hotter and the sloth will have to adjust to a more semi-dry area then what they are used to. The sloth’s changes would be major. It would need smaller arms and claws to improve its agility and its speed so the sloth can escape large predators. They would at least need to be moving at 40 mph. Their neck needs to be bigger and longer so the sloth can reach for its food and water. Another thing is its ears. They should have bigger ears, so they can hear predators approaching them. The sloth’s habitat will change drastically, but their new adaptations will help them thrive.
