Glass frogs are animals that thrive in tropical rainforests in Central and South America. One effect of climate change is that glaciers will melt due to higher temperatures making very wet habitats. Glass frogs will need to adapt to live in these environments. This new form of the frog will be called the Aquatic Tetrapod, meaning: four legged vertebrate that lives in the water. In the past, frogs lived only in the water. They can use the cells in their body to adapt back to living solely in the water in order to survive. They can use seaweed to help them camouflage and use it to be a safe place to lay eggs. Insects will also adapt to living in water so the frogs can have food. They will form gills to help them breathe underwater . The Aquatic Tetrapod will need smaller toe pads to move through the water.
