For this project, I have chosen the macaw. The macaw is a unique type of parrot that has colorful feathers. Macaws live in rainforests and are smart animals that mate for life. In the rainforest, macaws rely on trees and plants for their homes and diets. In the future, climate and habitat changes will cause the macaw to suffer. Due to rising temperatures and humidity, macaws will grow scales and change colors from bright to dark brown black colors. Habitat changes will impact the once lush land-based rainforest and create a water-based marsh, which does not grow many types of trees and plants that macaws need. The short-curved beak of the macaw could change to a long flat beak like a duck’s, because it will need to find food from the swamps in order to survive. These are the ways the macaw will adapt due to climate and habitat changes.
