The brown throated three-toed sloth is a slow-moving animal that spends most of its life in the trees of South and Central America's rainforests. With long legs, arms, and fingers, it’s perfectly adapted to gripping branches. Its diet mainly consists of leaves, with occasional fruit and bugs. However, climate change is threatening its habitat. If rainforests transform into dry savannas, sloths will face huge challenges. They would need to adapt by changing their color to blend with the yellow grass, shifting their diet to grasses as trees become scarce, and developing stronger bodies to defend against predators and compete for food. Their bodies may also need to adapt to land living, making it harder to survive. If action isn't taken, the sloth’s perfect life could be at risk of going extinct.
